Tonight was a more laid back night.. you can thank my mind mush for that one :)
There were a lot of laughs.. and I do mean a lot :) Mainly we just chatted about our weeks and what God had been speaking to us about.
Through all of the conversations tonight and over the past few weeks I keep getting a real sense that God is showing all of us how present he is through all the details of our lives.. from the trivial to the spectacular. He's speaking a lot about our identities as his kids and how he wants to care for us. When I think about those things I cannot help but to be thankful.
The verse that came to mind was Phillipians 4:4.
We all know this one:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
I love how it's written in The Message:
Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him!
I feel like The Message version prompts us to be in a constant attitude of thankfulness. I love how we are reminded that in every day and in every way we are to rejoice in the good things God has done and is doing. When I really sit and think about it I can't help but to smile even amidst the crappy stuff that happens day in and day out.
So my challenge for you guys this week is to think about the good things. Think about the ways in which God has provided, the ways he's reminded you of who you are and how much he loves you.
