Hey Hey Folks!
Wednesday night we went through a couple of verses and talked about what stood out to us, what God may be saying to us and an action plan. It was a really awesome hearing the common thread between us all and thinking about how that will impact our collective and the community as a whole. We are all getting a sense that it's time to actually live out the love we have experienced through our relationship with Christ and also to all the God to breathe new life into all of us.
I really feel as though this is a great step for all of us as this collective is really going to hinge on the friendships we have with one another and with the others in our lives.
This week mediate on the two verses we talked about and continue to pray about how you can show real love and where in your life God can bring life to things that were once dead.
Next week we will be doing a similar exercise using a song that ties a lot into what we discussed this week.
Here are the verses:
Romans 8:11
It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!
1 John 3:18-22
My dear children, let's not just talk about love; let's practice real love. This is the only way we'll know we're living truly, living in God's reality. It's also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.
And friends, once that's taken care of and we're no longer accusing or condemning ourselves, we're bold and free before God! We're able to stretch our hands out and receive what we asked for because we're doing what he said, doing what pleases him.
I love you guys .. truly :)
Jaimes
